Short and sweet; like a refreshing beverage on a nice night. All about putting the player in a place and time without overplaying its hand or going too broad. I'm looking forward to hanging out in future Cheddar Beach stories.
Pretty nice and sweet experience! The hand drawn artwork has a lot of charm to it and the story has many funny moments. As an intro to this world, it works and makes me want to see more in the future!
The game is a fun slice of life type of game and also visual novel with different fun alternate routes, and character conflicts. The game reminds me of the fun Newgrounds era story driven RPGs . Always love to see the passion of Indie Developers labor of love and early steps from than the soul less Corporate slop. Games like this from Indie devs is where it starts. And looking forward to the sequels and expansions
I already played through the game on iOS. It’s a really funny game about Hamston the Hamster moving to Cheddar Beach, but if you’re from LA, you’ll recognize the vibe. It’s not the Hollywood sign and celebrities doing coke at parties, it’s local kids wondering how they can be a part of that big world and just feeling lucky get a beer in their hand. There’s a lot of real life in Cheddar Beach and that makes it special. Not a lot of games have life in them.
Delightful trip back to a 90's I didn't experience, but would have liked to. Fun art and streamlined throwback mechanics make for a great evening outing. "It's always better in the cheddar!"
Fun game so far! Looks like it is coming in episodes, which I'm fine with. It was enjoyable which is wild cause I usually don't like interactive novel games. But somehow it kept me interested. Maybe the music, or style, or characters, or story. Maybe all of it. I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the next episode!

Cheddar Beach is a visual novel experience that had me crack a few smiles, I enjoyed the variety of characters, their different motivations, shenanigans, and interactions . You play as Hamston a fish out of water that's new to Cheddar Beach and hang out as his cousin Gerbert and cousins friend Bossa roam Cheddar Beach looking for a party. You run into a variety of significant and insignificant characters , one of my favorites is the Drunken Duck , and make a few choices as you experience a night along with Hamstons crew . I love the drawn art style of the characters it's simple but it almost gives the game a storybook quality , I love the cool panning background which changes in color in town that aligns with the music and scenes Hamston ends up in . the music is really strong bouncing between chill and lo-fi to muc…

I enjoy the dialogue as it reminds me of growing up in Southern California where I assume the games inspirations are based . and some real conversations I've had about family about how [ California burger classic staple ] hasn't updated their menu in decades and while californians like it that way out of towners often have strong unimpressed opinions . Altogether This is a great opening Chapter to Cheddar Beach it sets the stage for Hamston, the people who matter most to him , the vibe of Cheddar Beach , and the different characters that live there. I'm super excited to go on this journey with Hamston and get to know Cheddar Beach and the people who live there a little better in future chapters !
