I love this game, and if you're a fan of any style of total war or rts in general I'm sure you'll love it too! Also the dev is putting so much stuff into this game even though it feels 100% done already so thats exciting! It's a simple "What if you took total war and made it into a rouge like." extremely simple to pick up and incredibly fun to play. Also you pay for it once and you're done, massive respect for the dev!
I was never really into 'Total War type' games. But this game... this game is AMAZING! The perfect blend between Total War & Slay the Spire.
Cozy Total War. That's what this game feels like. Each race feels unique enough to give battles flavor. Amazing this is made by one guy. Constant updates/balance tweaks. Creator has great communication and gives statistics to back up his balancing changes. Other game developers should aspire to this level of transparency.

Easily worth the 20 dollar asking price. There are a few small issues with unit control and pathing, but between the smaller army sizes and smaller battle maps unit control feels about on-par with older Total War titles. I haven't played Total War Warhammer at all so I can't comment how it compares there directly on the real time tactics side. The roguelike elements will feel immediately familiar to anyone who's played Slay the Spire and similar games. If anything I find the game a little on the easy side, though at time of writing I have gotten all of the steam achievements for it so maybe that's just a practice thing.
The game is decent, but not worth the price they are asking. Especially with how piss poor the unit control can often be and how generic every single unit feels. Having knowing the results of autoresolve be tied difficulty was a really dumb decision, since it just penalizes you occasionally for not manually fighting every single battle. Making the game more boring isn't an increase in difficulty.

First of all, let me say that I played similar tabletop wargames before, The total war series, warhammer tabletop, conquest, and many other strategy games. This game? It is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy, I blew past squire difficulty (The easiest) in under an hour, the cavalry is not fun, they change directions far to easily, instant acceleration making cycle charging so overpowered. Making units low on health retreat is good, but when you can manually tell units to retreat its good... Unless they gain total invulnerability while retreating. you can easily save your best units by doing that right before their death. Make retreating units gain morale slowly after retreating, if it would bring it up about idk 10% morale, they would rejoin the fight. Units instantly obey your command, which is really good. but it removes some tactical aspect of commanding them before they are needed, so they get into …

This game is awesome, as someone who hasn't really gotten deep into the RTS genre, this game is incredible in terms of accessibility and simplicity, not as overwhelming as other popular RTS games. Its a great gateway that I believe will pave the way for me by the time DoW 4 releases. I've had so much fun with this game and it is so easy to drop in and out of whether its short session or a long session. Also so impressive that it is a solo dev who is transparent and hard at work at improving the quality of the game, with constant updates and a clear roadmap for content. They listen to feed back and pay close attention to the analytics of the game. This developer clearly is pouring his heart and soul into this game and if you have any interest in the RTS genre that you haven't had before or maybe even if you're a seasoned RTS player I'm sure you'll find enjoyment in this game, this is def…
