I mean its not as good as other games in this genre but its enjoyable.
This game is not ready for release. Aside from technical issues, the frame rate drops as low as 10 fps as you progress—even on a high-end rig equipped with a 9950X3D, an RTX 5090, and 128GB of RAM. There are flaws in the game's design, and many features that would enhance player convenience are either missing or disabled. In short, there is a lack of hardware optimization in the later stages of the game. Frequent memory access errors further indicate that the game was poorly coded.
The narrative is okay, there are some minor choices and also a plot about evil corporation shenanigans (never heard that one before). The juggling between base expansion and constraints like power, CPU, oxygen and water is also fun. Just one thing is a bit annoying and that's the skill tree. This girlboss Alice sets you up as the director of the most advanced drones in the universe, these drones are so cool they can do anything, yet when you actually start to play it turns out they can't even build a bed or a shower without 20 years of scientific research first. Anyway, if you like Satisfactory or Star Rupture, you'll be right at home here.
Factory automation game on Luna with colonists to care for. Strong points: 1. Atmosphere. Nice story, good voice acting, great music, good graphics. Probably most atomospheric factory game to date. 2. Challenging. Resource management is tricky. Some missions are time-limited. Game requires you to think about your bus design game as you are space-contrained. Late game quest is very hard, requires you to scale and master the game. 3. Unique mechanics not available in aother factory games (planet/underground layers, building staff, exploration). Weak sides: 1. Balance. Simple showers require high tech materials (probably because showers were added recently), tech tree has very expensive early techs and very cheap late techs. Some of late game alternative production methods are worse than original ones. 2. Technical problems. Memory leaks, glitches, crashes. Even in 1.0.22 I encountered…

Even in 1.0.22 I encountered several problems and couple of crashes. The game is fully playable and can be completed desipite those glitches, but it's something worth noting. Best wishes to devs, thanks for a great game, looking forward to updates.
I started The Crust mainly for the colony building and automation, but ended up enjoying pretty much everything about it. Expanding the base, fixing production problems, exploring the Moon, doing contracts and watching the story slowly unfold is genuinely addictive. There is always something new to build, improve or figure out, and once the colony starts growing it becomes really hard to stop playing. My biggest issue is performance. I’m playing on an RTX 5070, Ryzen 7 9700X and 32 GB RAM, and even with that, my FPS dropped heavily as the colony grew. I’ve also had several crashes. So the late-game optimization definitely still needs work. Despite that, I keep coming back to the game because the core experience is just that good. If the performance issues get fixed, I honestly think this could become one of the best colony sims out there. If you like automation, base building and sci…

Now the game has come out of its early access it's finally time to review whats is there and unforuntately I'm not impressed. To speedrun the problems: - The plot brings up new aspects that are promptly dropped; My main example would be the fact you're asked to find a new exoplanet for humanity to settle and your final techs would be for colonising planets outside of our solar system, but halfway through the game just drops that plotline and never brings it up again. - Progression feels irrelevant at times, most of the impactfull upgrades are early on in your tech tree and later techs do not do enough to feel special or warrant using them over simply hitting any problem over the head with the hammer of "Do it Harder". Prime example is your refining and smelting, you get the multirefiner within 30 minutes of playtime and never need to swap of it. Refining it off map adds more steps to y…

Prime example is your refining and smelting, you get the multirefiner within 30 minutes of playtime and never need to swap of it. Refining it off map adds more steps to your logistics chain that do not create any benefits and only tax your credits. Same with smelting, you get the Mk2 smelter and that is all the real progression you have from early game to end game. Your base will look similair regardless of the stage you are in and that's a real shame. - To tie into the previous point, the improved Mk2 version of buildings is a black box with some yellow and blue. This is the same regardless of what building you improve to a mk2 version and makes for a visually unappealing. - Several pieces of the game are straigtht up not there. The main offender here being the statistics screen which has several sections inaccesible with placeholder text in the 1.0 release . So if you want to know if your production is unbalanced your best option is to unironically count the production numbers along your production line . - The game banks heavily on colonists with anything intermediate or end product beyond modular frames requiring colonists to break the 50% production speed mark. But since you are incentivised to mass produce with many production structures you either need to eat the production loss and build more OR you have to massively upscale colonists which are a Pain to manage. - The end game is seriously underwhelming. You end up throwing resources at a progress bar to build a laser cannon to destroy the astroid which would wipe out humanity and in return you get a 20 second cinematic and a couple voice lines congratulating you before returning to normal... Seriously? - A good portion of the art was AI generated and was admitted so by the devs. The claim is that they then touched it up with artists but a good portion of the artwork looks overwhelmingly AI. This is contrasted by the models for the in game buildings which do look like a person made them, so it ends up making al the AI stuff even more sad to me. - The soundtrack is maybe not my taste, but it feels very repetetive and I would not be suprised if it was also generated using AI. - There is a known bug that will prevent you from unlocking the endgame quest to build the laser cannon. You cannot save/reload your way through it and savefile editing is not an option either at this moment. In conclusion I cannot recommend this game in its current state as of patch 1.0.13. If these problems were adressed then I could see this game being worth it on sale, but as it stands right now I would hold off on purchasing this game at full price.

Cool so far, but let me go ahead and address the one thing most people are going to notice immediately. Alice. This isn't about her at all. It's about the angry little red-pilled boy you let write a woman's part. The game starts with some casual misogyny, and then quickly becomes a weirdly out-of-place unprofessional and condescending exchange of dialogue that feels uncomfortable and once again.... OUT OF PLACE in this professional setting. FIRE THAT EMPLOYEE and let them go work for the trump administration, where they belong.
In het begin lastig maar eenmaal dieper in het spel vrij goed speelbaar
Very good game.

I had my fun with it for the first 5 or so hours and then the fun kind of started to drop off a cliff for me. I don't think it's a bad game per se, but it feels like a mismanaged game that tried to give you freedom of doing many things at once while at the same time it just starts to bury you with mechanics, quests and things that need your attention and that you need to micro-manage. The general premise and overall execution is kinda cool: base-builder on the Moon that eventually grows in scope to cover basically the whole surface of the Moon with lots of points of interests to check out and quests to complete. The base-building is fun and the factory systems also work well enough. Everything is built and maintained by little drones that run around and do the tasks you tell them to do, and it's fun to see them pick up resources and build the structures you want them to build and then s…

Everything is built and maintained by little drones that run around and do the tasks you tell them to do, and it's fun to see them pick up resources and build the structures you want them to build and then see them transport items and all that, thematically it's cool and stands out from the usual base-building/factory-building experience in a way. There's the day/night cycle that you need to be prepared for: build up the energy during the day and make sure you don't spend too much of it during the night or else your whole base shuts down, and I personally like that approach. There's a storyline that guides you through the game's mechanics like a tutorial that then just evolves into multiple storylines happening at once.. and that's where the game started to lose me. You get assigned quest after a quest after quest, contract after contract to complete by having x items delivered by y amount of days, or "you have z amount of days to do this or quest fails" that requires you to drop everything that you were doing to get it done if you weren't prepared for it. You need to micro-manage your base more, especially when you start get colonists, so you'll be wrangling with ever-increasing factory needs with the contracts to complete, quest objectives and now human beings to look after (though they don't need THAT much hand-holding at the start, I don't know if it gets worse over time) and.. it kind of became unfun for me. You gotta keep the factory going while juggling other things to the point of exhaustion. Multiple storylines are happening at the same time making me not care about any of them because they all need something from me while something else also needs something from me and... ugh. oh also the tech tree is not fun. Some of the unlocks feel borderline useless and to be able to unlock things at reasonable pace you gotta make sure you're always on top of your game of juggling contracts and story missions, else your progress halts to a crawl and everything feels like a slog. Too many things happening at once that made me wonder "why am I doing all of this?" and I closed the game and had zero interest in opening it again in nearly a month now. Your mileage will vary, but I felt like this had fantastic potential and currently it's not really there yet.
Keeps crashing. Lost half an hours progress and lost all interest.
