So gooooodddd
I have massively enjoyed playing Railroad Corporation 2. I have had almost 250 hours in the game and have completed all 10 scenarios on the highest difficulty settings. I have completed all of the achievements with the exception of the 2 multi-player achievements. My advice is to begin with transporting Passengers and Mail between large cities (the profit you make is not large but it is consistent and does not reduce over time like it does when transporting goods). In the meantime use geologists to survey the areas around and between these large cities. As you discover resources set up a new settlement close to your existing tracks and then replace tracks to include your new settlement. Now use lobbyists in your new settlements to build low cost industrial areas ready to supply your cities. It is best to take goods from your own industries rather than buying from existing ones. Start small - clay/coal for pottery, clay/coal/quartz for bricks, wood and lumber yards can be built anywhere. You can also build settlements around resources which you do not intend to use - destroy the resource that you have just developed, lobby for an industrial area and you have a settlement with 2 industries e.g flour/bread, meat/sausage, paper/books. Try to keep the distances between your stations as small as possible for economy and you can ignore large areas of the map. The main map based resources to look out for are grain and cotton. These are both vital resources and cannot be self-generated so try to build near them. The goods that you produce in the early game like pottery/paper/bricks/meat fairly quickly lose their value. I have found the most profitable goods long term are Whisky, Tools and Furniture. Completing contacts can make good money but usually only when your network is already in place. However, look out for Wood/Lumber contracts which you can achieve with you lobbyists and without having to send trains there. Lumber yards are cheap to build. And when you have the spare capital start to research better trains. Loans are of little use unless you have financiers that increase the loan amount. Bonds are costly and only give you a months warning before needing to be repaid. Avoid borrowing if you can help it. I think that contract staff are of little value. When you have the available funds begin researching better trains. Good luck!
Gutes und ausgeklügeltes Konzept. Hat viel Spaß gemacht. Auch die Kampagnen waren interessant und spannend gestaltet worden. Hat sich für mich gelohnt. Kann ich weiterempfehlen.
I had been looking forward to getting this for a long time, after really enjoying Railroad Corporation. Unfortunately, I am really disappointed by this game, and I'm refunding it. A couple of differences:

The very first time I started the game, I switched between tabs in the scenarios menu. The game froze up. I never had a crash in RC1.
RC1 had dozens of scenarios and dozens more in the workshop. RC2 has two!
RC1 had sliders to minutely adjust the difficulty of scenarios in many ways. RC2 has very little difficulty configuration.
But the biggest problem of all is that RC2 doesn't have UI scaling. So almost everything is too small to read. It has no other accessibility options either. It's like a completely different development team did RC2, and left all the QOL, accessibility, replayability, and depth out of the game. And does the lack of scenarios and the workshop mean they're going to turn it into a DLC fest? RC1 did that a little bit admittedly, but the base game still had plenty of replayability. RC2 just does not stack up to it's predecessor or to other offerings. As I said, very disappointing. I don't recommend this game except at a very deep discount.
This is the game I hoped Railroad Corporation 1 would be. There's still the occasional bit of odd UI and rough English localization, but over all it's a much more polished experience than the first game.
Thank you to the developer for the help . I give this game a good review but would also like to see more campaign content like in RR1 . This game gets an 8 in my view . There is hours and hours of play time good luck and have fun . Slava Ukraine
This is a really entricing game, but I can't recommend it. Trains enter stations and despawn to (un)load cargo, allowing multiple trains to exist in the station at the same time, despite there only being one track. Sandbox scenario mode: There's no way to "continue playing" when you've achieved the configured number of tasks (1-5). If you disable tasks, there will be a button in the active mission list to exit the scenario, no way to hide this one without clicking it and thus ending the game. Trains will generate warnings/alerts when they have minor issues, like slightly increased fuel consumption due to a failed part, and this notification will recommend building service depots along the route. These alerts can't be disabled, and once you have 5+ trains there will be one every 10s or so. The developer should allow disabling these notifications, but they should also make the notification a bit smarter so that it doesn't nag if there is in fact a service depot on the trains route. I've also had issues with rails not connecting properly, creating invisible no-path points on my railway. The rail-building in this game *requires* all rails to start at a station (or somewhere on another rail, whether it be the end or a snap point along it). When laying rails, you have to carefully place each one. Yes there is a "parallell track" mode, but this doesn't really work for long stretches of rail, especially when ther are bridges or tunnells involved. Usually need to add a waypoint every couple hundred meters. There's no way to remove just a tiny bit of a rail. You need to remove the entire rail between two intersections. Workaround: Create an intersection. Unfortunately, this makes it very difficult to build nice rails, as there will be random wiggle-bends when doing this. There's no way to add names or tags to railway stations. It also seems like you can only build one station per city, and you can't build railway stations outside of cities. (think: cargo reloading terminal)
UI is bad, semaphores' use is unclear, many things could use some automation / are tedious like research, lobbying etc,.. yes there is some nice economic simulation, but all the rest is unfinished, lacks info, is unclear,...
