Woman Simulator

As a professional woman, I decided to give "Woman Simulator" a try to see if it hit the mark. And honestly? It did a much better job than I thought. Admittedly when I read the title, I thought to myself, "This is gonna be a ragebait slop game isn't it?" And then I saw a review by what I assume is another woman, saying that the game uses abuse as some sort of joke. Still, I gave it a try. If you're worried about buying the game because of that, fear not. The game doesn't joke about abuse, that reviewer is just a lil slow. Actually? You play as Nina, a house wife whose married to a sketchy and abusive man. If you're easily disturbed by those topics, I would avoid this specific game. But no, it's doesn't treat it like a "haha funny" skit. Everyday you wake up, and you instantly have to hustle to get your chores done. Most of the tasks stay the same from day to day; cooking, mopping, dishes, laundry. But every so often, your husband will call you, forcing you to do something else. Meanwhile, inbetween all of these tasks, you also have to juggle your own mental health, power and water outages, messages with your friends and mom, and investigate the weird business your husband is apart of. Honestly, there's nothing subtle about the husband being abusive. He will randomly jumpscare you by appearing in the house, staring at you until you acknowledge him. He regularly makes uncomfortable comments, and becomes aggressive if you're not "agreeable." Its a nice touch, and the game is clearly trying to touch on the topic of how women have certain societal expectations, and how often they're isolated and abused in these kinds of situations. It has multiple endings, which I won't spoil, but it does give some variety. Things I disliked are kind of minor, all things considered. Instead of using plates when serving food (you know, the ones that magically get dirty everyday despite not being used), you use deep bowls? Make it make sense. AI was used for the main menu music. Was it enough to stop me from playing? No. It's still an L though.
