If you love ancient history and warfare, this is a must have!
My go to Grand Tactical Ancients game. Feedback wise only feedback would be more freedom for custom battle army creation. I love the larger battles that I can currently only get in campaigns. Only game which competes with my love of tabletop gaming. Love the campaigns cant wait for more!
good tactical game
Really interesting adaptation of Field of Glory style tabletop game into a real time dynamic. The real time element works really well and allows for armies to be more unwieldy.
this game is very good. looking forward to where the devs take it. though the campaign aspect isnt the best and could use some fleshing out, and some of the achievements are bugged.

A fun strategy game. Don't go in expecting Total War, Grand Tactician, or even Master and Commander. This is not that. This is a battle simulator set in antiquity, and that's it. And it happens to be 'very' good at doing that. Strategos takes the Total War battle formula and focuses on refining key aspects, such as the command structure and layering in some rigid combat rules to avoid the dreaded "unit clumping" that can turn large Total War battles into unsightly mosh pits. This makes for a much deeper strategy layer than what you find in Total War. While it lacks the campaign element found in Master and Commander, I actually find Strategos battles to be deeper and more strategic than those in Master and Commander. Is this a Total War replacement? No, definitely not. Is this a fun way to set up and command ancient battles? Yes, absolutely.
total war rome if it was more realistic
I definitely enjoy this game, have been a long time total war player so I enjoy these kinds of strategic battles. I enjoy the emersion level of the command and dispatch system and a bit of the chaos from units having a bit of autonomy. Some players might not like that loss of control but I differ and think it adds complexity and depth.
Was promised RTS, got Turn based wierd hybrid with glitchy UI. Units need to be perfectly positioned to attack other units, Factions are CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Battles are full of rolling dice. For this price it is just good looking Dice roll simulator.

Pros: -Good graphics, and overall clean UI -Challenging battles with a courier mechanic -Many factions and units to choose from -Lots of historical battles and a few campaigns Cons: -Barebones diplomacy and campaigning outside "Move, attack" -The game is still in development -A bit hard to figure out In short, if you like battles and that stuff, go for it, if you're into intrigue and politics, I'd pass. EDIT: After playing a bit more of the game, here are my added thoughts. Bugs: The game is kind of buggy of at some points and dragging units in formation doesn't really work all that well. I don't think this is a bug, but you can't control units outside the map, but you also can't shoot at units outside the map even if they are still alive. (The AI can control them though) Campaigns: The campaigns are a mixed bag, the battle campaigns are pretty fun but the actual campaign maps are so confusing, at least for the first time. Aside from that, the game is pretty fun, not a lot to offer though.
